, "Do not buy Souvenirs, buy Originals", "Free food - for the mind", "Please, do touch" - not only the color of the shop is different to the typical greek/cretan blue, also the signs in his shop seem to praise the absolute opposite you normally would expect in an art shop.
Und auch Manolis Tsouris selbst bleibt dieser Linie treu: Der "Mad artist", wie er sich selbst gerne bezeichnet, schimmert in den vergnüglichen Gesprächen mit ihm immer wieder durch. Frage also nicht, ob du etwas kaufen kannst. Es könnte dir passieren, daß das rundweg abgelehnt wird. Frag also nicht, kauf einfach ;-)
And also Manolis Tsouris himself stays faithful to this line: The "mad artist", like he entitles himself cheerfully, shines through in the enjoyable dialogues you might have with him. So, don't ask if you are allowed to buy something, he bluntly might say no! Don't ask, just buy ,-)

Von kleinen Schlüsselanhängern über Holzschüsseln bis zu mehrere hundert Kilo schweren Holzskulpturen finden sich bei Manolis unzählige Ergebnisse seiner überschäumenden Kreativität. Dazu phantastische Geschichten über seine Kunstwerke, seine Umwelt, sein Lieblingsmaterial, das Olivenholz und überhaupt über alles und jeden. Aber sei auf der Hut vor seinem mitunter skurrilen Humor. Dann wirst du nicht nur individuelle Holzschnitzereien finden sondern auch vergnügliche Minuten in Manolis' Local Art Shop verbringen.
Reaching from little wooden keychains, wooden bowls to really heavy sculptures, you will find countless results of his ebullient creativity. Accompanied by fantastic stories concerning his art objects, the environment, his preferred material, olive wood and at all about anything and everybody. But be on guard against his whimsical humor! Then you won't only find individual carvings but also enjoyable times in Manolis' Local Art Shop.
